Karen
has an elegant yet earthy approach to her work. Her pottery boasts
rich layers of colors that produce such a warm depth; you can’t
help but want to touch them, pick them up and bring them home.
Functionality is important to her, the bowl form being her favorite
to produce.
Karen’s
latest series of platters and dishes with stamped designs she has carved
out of clay and then fired, are very inviting to want to use and very
flattering to any home or office space. She has produced pottery as
well as clay jewelry that has been exhibited in galleries, boutiques
and department stores in the United States.
Karen
has her M.A. degree in art and teaches adult & children classes
at Rimi studios . A high school art class was her first experience with
clay and she hasn’t stopped since. Clay is a medium that is very
freeing yet produces a strong character trait of disciplining one
self.
